Did Jesus ascend to the heavens above (stars) to find his other sheep?

Do you think he went in a physical body to space? Or did his physical body disintegrate so he could enter the spiritual realms? Did he leave so that he could return at a time when he would be more accepted and not nailed to a cross again?
